Introduction

"Earlville – Past, Present, Future. Historical and Prophetic Sketch Being Prepared by Mr. John R. Parsons". Thus
began a series of articles which appeared in the Earlville Standard Newspaper in 1926. In these articles, which were
prepared and published to help celebrate Old Home Week, local historian John R. Parsons relates his version of the
history of Earlville and its environs. Quincy Square Museum Association revisits these articles to celebrate Madison
County's Bicentennial Celebration 2006. Chapters will be published from time to time, and QSMA invites everyone in
possession of additional information to get in touch with them. These articles will appear as published in 1926, with
updates in parentheses.
