How To:

Volunteers are usually museum members who have a desire to learn more about the
history of the Village of Earlville. They may have special skills which they wish to
contribute or be generalists who enjoy good companionship. Those wishing to
volunteer may contact one of the officers or attend a monthly meeting. Volunteers
are an integral part of our association, without them there would be no museum.
Please volunteer today!

Volunteers are welcome to serve on one of the following committees:
Programs and Activities;
Building and Grounds;
Acquisitions;
Floor Management;
Membership Development;
Fund Raising.

Hours:

Workdays at the museum are usually scheduled for each Wednesday May through
October. Times are specified at each monthly meeting. During the off-season,
volunteers may select to work on individual or group projects at their own pace.

Docents:

The docent, as the indispensable link between the Museum and the public, ensures
that the Museum is open during visiting hours, greets visitors, helps them during
their tour of the Museum, and sees that their visit is a pleasant experience. If the
visitor wishes to purchase a sale item, join Quincy Square Museum Association, or
get information regarding some facet of Earlville's history, the docent is there to
help.

To become a docent, a volunteer should contact a Board member. Written
instructions are provided to the docent, showing the various duties related to that
position. All docents can choose the day and time during which they will work.
Being a docent can be a very rewarding experience-not financially, but in that
satisfaction one receives from helping others while simultaneously providing a
community service.
